Biography of Senator Bill Brown


Political

Senator Brown was elected to represent the people of Senate District 36 in November 2006 and reelected in 2010. He was appointed by the President Pro-Tempore Brian Bingman to serve as the Chairman of the Insurance and Retirement Committee. Senator Brown also serves on Senate Committees for General Government, Tourism and Wildlife, Veterans and Military Affairs as well as the Appropriations and Budget Committee for General Government.

Fighting for the education and protection of Oklahoma's children is of utmost importance to Senator Brown. As a grandfather of five homeschooled children, this personal freedom is a priority for him both personally and in his role as a Senator.

Senator Brown has held fast in his beliefs in the protection of unborn children. He is also a champion in the fight to protect the Constitutional freedom and protection of Oklahoma's citizens. As a political and financial conservative, Senator Brown continues to work towards these ends as a servant of the people of Senate District 36.

Personal

Senator Brown was born and raised in Henryetta Oklahoma. He attended Northeasten State University and received a degree in Education. Bill taught school for 4 years, before going into the insurance business.

Senator Brown is a civic leader with a passion for service. He was president of the Broken Arrow Rotary Club and is the past president of Gatesway Foundation, an organization that helps the mentally and physically disabled.

Senator Brown is married to Linda Brown, a longtime teacher at Park Lane Elementary School in Broken Arrow. They have four children and eleven grandchildren. As a Broken Arrow citizen for thirty-two years, Bill has always held fast to his conservative principles. Faith is of utmost importance to Bill and his family.
